Workshop 7: Air

We can breathe easy once our kids understand their part in supporting pollution reduction.

1. LEARN:

Fatalities from air pollution worldwide exceed traffic accident deaths by a factor of three (4.6million die each year from air pollution) (Earth Policy Unit, 2002). We live in a very lucky country! Let’s appreciate it and learn how to support it for the future.

2. PLAY:

These activities provide a fun constructive way for kids to undertake meaningful play which builds a caring, fair and inclusive community.

3. MAKE:

Air purifying plant creations brighten our bedroom while they work.

10% of profits from this workshop go to Clean Air Taskforce. www.catf.us

Clean water is not a right, it’s a privilege our kids will soon learn how to respect.

A human needs 15 -20L of water a day to survive (Water Partners International, 2006), the Brisbane average is 154L per person (BCC, 2019). This workshop aims to ensure clean water is not taken for granted anymore.

2. PLAY:

Run and play while learning about water species. These activities provide a fun constructive way for kids to undertake meaningful play which builds a caring, fair and inclusive community.

3. MAKE:

Making miniature water gardens to enjoy at home.

Workshop 9: Land

They aren’t making any more of it, so it’s time our kids looked after it!

1. LEARN:

42% of the semiarid and arid lands in Australia are now considered dead land (UNCCD 2008), while deforestation in the tropics accounts for the loss of 100 species a day (FAO).

It’s simple, look after the land and it looks after us!

2. PLAY:

Get outdoors and get active while further enhancing our learning of simple ways to look after our land.

3. MAKE:

Native seed bombs are so fun to make and easy to spread, anywhere.

10% of profits from this workshop go to Landcare. www.landcareaustralia.org.au
